FoundationGenius Pro generates strip or slab foundations under the selected or detected walls in one step, and gives you formwork, reinforcing steel and concrete quantities, with US (IRC, ACI) and European (Eurocode) region settings.
Planned features
This is what we are planning for the first release. Details may still change during development and testing.
Strip and slab foundations
Strip footings with width, depth, base level and eccentricity; slabs with outline, overhang and openings; thickened edges. Every element is a solid group and can be split into pour sections.
Wall detection
FrameGenius Pro walls and log walls are detected automatically; in any other model it works from selected floor-plan lines or with its own drawing tool.
Formwork
Earth-formed, timber boards, system formwork, formwork blocks or ICF, slab edge forms: formwork area, edge length and piece count.
Reinforcement
Editable reinforcement templates for strip footings, slabs and edges, with regional bending and lap rules and automatic corner bars. Rebar schedule with shape codes.
Concrete and build-up
Net volume with waste, by pour section and concrete grade, with truck loads – ready for ordering concrete. Blinding, gravel, geotextile, membrane, insulation, earthworks and anchor bolts.
Checks and reports
A rule engine with warnings. Reports split into tabs – summary, concrete, formwork, rebar, build-up, earthworks – and CSV export.
Later development rounds
- Interior thickenings, stepped footings, stem walls on footings, ground-bearing slabs
- Frost-protected shallow foundations, pad footings
- Excel export, PDF rebar schedule with bending sketches
- Foundation plan sheets, typical sections, IFC export
Important: FoundationGenius Pro is a modelling and quantity take-off tool, not a structural design program. In Europe the designer always specifies the dimensions and reinforcement; in the USA, for simple residential buildings, it can suggest default values from the IRC prescriptive tables.
